Wow! These are all beautiful! I love #1. It's so girly. The fringe on #2 is really cool! I also love #5. Love the yellow on the back that Tigger pointed out too.

Out of three trys, two Firedrake x Brazilia and one Brazilia x Firedrake, only Brazilia x Firedrake took. Okay, I won't stop. I was always intimidated. I thought it was more difficult. I see that once you get past that it's really fun. Your crosses are certainly an inspiration.

Re: Cutting off hosta flowers as the stalk appears.
The rabbits keep cutting my scapes. I hope they leave a few so I have some seeds to plant. I need a plane to fly over weekly and drop liquid fence on everything.

Beautiful Ed!
I took the plunge and made a couple of crosses the other day. Brazillia and Firedrake both ways. I'm waiting to see if they worked.

Pretty baby Alexa!
I read the old thread. I missed the vote. It was during the summer that I stayed with my mom after her stroke. I wasn't able to check the forum regularly. I think all of you made a good choice.

No expert but I guess I could qualify as an aficonado. I agree with Alexa. If it makes people happy, go for it. I was outside, just the other day, sniffing my Fragrant Treasure.

FYI LucyGoose, quoted from Wikipedia, "Princess Ozma is a fictional character in the Land of Oz, created by L. Frank Baum. She appears in every book of the series except the first, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900)."

Thanks Chris. We went to see LucyGoose (at work) yesterday and I bought some. I haven't noticed any activity in the past few days but I think I'll put some down a few of the holes anyway.

Re: critters in the garden
Linda, Are rat traps the same as mouse traps only bigger? Mouse traps have always worked for us in the past. I don't know why they weren't successful last year. I have always used peanut butter as bait. I first discovered voles in 2002 (after living here for eleven years). They ate the roots off of...

Re: critters in the garden
I commiserate with you. The voles have started up again here. I guess we (meaning DH) should put out the mouse traps again. They did not work very well last year. Chris, if you read this, what is the name of that poison block you told me about? I think it's time to step up my game. I hate se...

My #1 choice is August 4 since my "partner in crime" has that weekend off. My #2 choice is July 28.

Re: Hallson Gardens 2011 Get Together in Cement City, MI JUL
I wish we could join you this year but it just isn't going to work out. :( July has been an eventful month. Our family attended my niece's wedding downstate. We boarded the dogs. Now poor Jasmine's arthritis has become more of a hindrance for her than in the past. DS#1 accepted a job offer and move...

Re: Sedum Mr. Goodbud Problem
Thanks Karma. :D That's exactly what I was thinking about doing. I guess I just needed someone to encourage me to go ahead and do it. I'm thinking this might be because of our cold, wet spring. I've never seen this on any of the sedums before. Yes, I think there is plenty of time and there s...

Re: Patrushka's Page
Wow, do my lists ever need updating! I did not add the new hostas from last year and I haven't removed some that were lost. I'll have more to remove once I am sure what the voles have destroyed. They are overabundant this year! I just rescued Magic FIre which they decided to eat last night. ...
