Hydrangea paniculata "Quickfire"
I picked this one up last year at the "Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival" in Douglasville, GA. This is one plant that is not affected by heat. Does not wilt in the hot afternoon like most other hydrangea's. Not the first sign of blackspot. A pretty qick grower too. I highly recommend this one. Billy

They may be gone in body, but they are always with us in our hearts. Cherish the memories. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you.

Hydrangea quercifolia "Vaughn's Lillie"
This may very well be my favorite hydrangea of the dozen we grow. We ran across this a couple of years ago at nursey in Asheville, N.C. The blooms are so big and so much thicker than any other oakleaf we have. It just draws you from across the garden. A great addition to our hydrangea bed. I've hear...

Georgia's new brother?
We've aquired another black standard poodle. Meschach belongs to a lady in Augusta who is fighting brain cancer and just was not able to take care of a large dog. After interveiwing a dozen plus families, we were chosen. He's been with us for a little over 2 months now and he is just a sweetheart. B...

Was looking through my database and I've had this one in the same spot since 2003. It had 35+ stalks last year and probably will only have about a dozen this year. Guess it time to dig and divide. I may have posted a pic of this one before. Billy ULTIMATE (Tom Johnson, R. 2002) Sdlg. R81BB. SDB, 13"...

I apologize for this one. It looks like it been stepped on a little. Actually I had just done a crossing with "Dime", SDB, so the standards and the style arms are a little out of place. Hard to cross the little ones. Billy DANCING BUNNIES (Paul Black, R. 2002) Sdlg. G90D. SDB, 15" (38 cm), M S. lime...

Here's another favorite. I've already crossed it with a couple of others, a SDB and one IB. Not sure if the IB is fertile. I guess we'll find out later. Sad news

Re: Parasites
Are you referring to a split at the base of the foliage just above th rhizome? If so, I don't believe it to be critter damage. Probably due to growth spurts. I've had it on several TB cultivars this year. The worm you may be thinking of is the "iris borer".

Daylily "Smith Brothers"
Hi All,
I don't grow but a few daylilies but this is one of my favorites. Sorry for the poor photo...It's not really that red. It's described in Tinkers as a near black self w/green gold throat. Enjoy!

Picked this up last week along with several other things. Not only did I forget the name...I picked one up that the tag was half gone. I'm too young for a senior moment  ....Anyway, the last 3 letters on the tag are "VER". My guess is Mildred Seaver. But I thought I would let the experts confir...
