More great shots I've never been able to get!

And Claudia, you're such a great source of information about them all! I never knew that about the red extension and male/female. I'll have to search my old pics! :D Thanks!

Re: Birds

Great shots Ed! I've never gotten close ups of the coopers or others here. Was not happy to see him devour a mourning dove one feb morning outside our bedroom window. I know they too have to survive, but geepers, it reminds me of the hunter who baits his back yard so he doesn't have to leave his hom...

Re: Christmas Flicker For Ed!

Great Shot! Mine came right up to the feeders I've moved up by the house. I was so surprised to see that, as they are here and gone so quickly. It was nice to see the variety this winter that have stayed. We had quit feeding them late summer b/c we weren't sure we could afford to feed so many again ...

Re: Nutty cardinal? HELP PLease?

Thanks muffy. I knew that, but what I wondered is what would make one continue it into the winter months? I'm really thinking he's just off his rocker and can't get back up into it! Weird bird. I even quit feeding them about 2 months ago again this year b/c I didn't want to encourage them to stay th...

Nutty cardinal? HELP PLease?

We have a resident cardinal that has been with us since early last spring. At some point, I think april, he started to peck at the windows. I mean EACH window on the east and north sides. There are bushes and or tree branches near these window. He sits on them, then jumps to the bars between the upp...

What a talented little guy...then again, you know that! :D It's getting cold, the geese are flying south in huge numbers today and brrrrrrrr...I hate winter :( Things are turning yellow and orange, burgandy and brown. Re: Night noises?

That was my first thought. Is there a place online to hear these things. It certainly sounded to me like a frog, but not the typical 'bull' cry, I'd imagined. It's loud and obnoxious and poor people without A/c, I can't imagine trying to sleep with your windows open and him ALL summer and ALL night ...

Night noises?

We've had a creature of sorts sitting in a big old tree out back every summer for some years, and this year there appear to be 3 of them in separate trees. This thing is keeping neighbors awake that are without A/C and have windows open in the heat we had, and we've all been trying to figure out wha...

Re: New form of wildlife or alien?

Oh yes! Dogs and cats too (well, one of mine now) love fruit and veggies. Had a dog that used to shuck peas, eat beans and raw taters as well as most fruit. My kitty LOVES maters, pototoes and peas, and many others, as I've said before. Maters are her fav and will follow dh around with his. He eats ...
