Goosie you are far from a laughing clown ... you are an adult that doesn't shy away from having fun and just being silly once and in a while ... so may people aren't secure enough to just laugh and have a good time and make others smile ...

Keep in mind that I moved my entire "dragon" hoard in March so some of the daylilies are blooming a bit earlier than normal and the scapes are very short compared to their regular heights ... I think I scared them into blooming

The 'Lemon Lily' is actually lilioasphoedelus, a very old variety that was treasured by our great-grandparents because of the fragrance. It is a prolific bloomer once established and multiplies rapidly. It is a shorter variety about 24 inches tall with grassy foliage and a lovely clear lemon color. ...

Daylily blooms ... it's Pleasant Hours

Normally 'Pleasant Hours' is an early bloomer ... the color in the photo is true to the actual color of this daylily in the sunlight. It blooms for an extended time. Because I moved it this year it is sulking and the scape is very short compared to the usual 30 inches or higher that it usually gets....

Another "Early" Bloom

Sometimes when you move a daylily it forces the blooms to be a bit early ... or it doesn't bloom at all. Summer Dragon decided to bloom early ... It opened this morning.

Sharon, You sent 'Little Red Dragon' in 2004. LRD is doing well and I'm looking forward to seeing it bloom. I traded you hosta Blue Cadet, Chartreuse Wiggles, Green Eyes, Wogon Koba and Kabitan for it. If I remember correctly we were talking about Firebreathing Dragon and then I had the opportunity ...

My First Daylily

Okay ... so I cheated a bit ... The grower sent me new plants WITH the scapes and buds still on them! This is from Hunter's Torch and I photographed it this morning. It is an unregistered 'Dragon Slayer' from John Phillips ... Since there is already a registered 'Dragon Slayer' I'm calling it Dragon...

People usually want to see the garden and then after a few minutes their eyes roll back in their heads and I can tell they aren't interested in the "details" ... It isn't until I get someone who is a Hosta-Collector that I have any real conversation! For the most part they just want to SEE the garde...

The UNKNOWN is now KNOWN

... I finally found the name of that late-blooming melon/orange sherbet colored daylily that I've been searching for. The name of it is 'The Last Melon' and it's a rather simple name for a fantastic late-blooming extended-blooming daylily that will sometimes continue blooming into September for me i...
