'War Paint'

I couldn't resist taking this picture. I wish I could get the resolution sharper for this one. This has to be one of the most spectacular leafed hosta!! Easily one of my favorites. When I walk by this hosta I couldn't help from staring at it. David. Registry - http://www.hostaregistrar.org/detail.ph...

Arisaema Taiwanensis

This is one of the most unique perennials. Leaf like an umbrella, snake skin stem, and speaking of snake, a flower like a cobra head! This Arisaema Taiwanensis is definately worth growing. Seems hardy too.

Thank you for your nice comments. Several years I climbed up on my roof and took some pictures of some of my hostas from that viewpoint. They are much more developed now. I hope to do that again in a few weeks after all the hostas unfurl. It will be titled "Hostas From The Sky- II"

Beautiful

Wow! I really like your choice of perennials, I too am creating a woodland garden. I really like that hosta Queen Josephine, the color is so vibrant! Please send pictures when your garden fills out. Hostas blend so well with the woodland.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate that, and so does my back. I will definately send another picture in a month or so, I don't know how much those types of plants will fill out by then. The spring here is still quite cold, not as cold as in the east and mid-west, sorry you guys :( . I did have some fr...

Woodland Garden

I spent a good portion of this springtime, landscaping a woodland garden in my front yard. You can see before and after pictures. I started after a wind storm, raking out the debris under the cedar. Then I dug out the grass. I then replaced the poor topsoil and dug in stepping stones. Heavy stepping...

It is purple near the soil line. It is hard to take a picture of since it is hidden by the leaves. I will try.

Actually I think those bulbs really come in those colors. You know like technology doubles each year... so does hybridizing. Where can I purchase those varieties Rox? I like the one with the face

I live near Seattle. Good question as far as where to find double trilliums. I purchased mine from a fellow garden club member during a fundraising sale. I believe some specialty garden sites on the web might have some. Sorry I can't be anymore help.
