Re: Dog toys
The same goes for cats! I'm amazed at how much longer a little fuzzy toy from McDonalds (yuck!) lasts as a cat toy than a 5.99 toy made specifically for them. For something great for kitties, the plastic rings that come off of milk jug lids are wonderful too, and free!

Re: Meet Wilbur!
To each his/her own... and that's coming from someone who has three lizards and thinks they're cute as pie, though most people wouldn't have one in their house LOL! After having long-haired hamsters also, Wilbur looks like he's cold brrrrr!!! So glad he's friendly and that your daughter likes him, r...

Re: Doggy Homework??
I know what that feels like! I work every day with three cats surrounding my computer desk, and they'd try to be on my lap and on the keyboard if I'd let them. We sleep with at least two of them on the bed with us also. It just wouldn't be the same without them. That's a great photos of Abby

Re: Moving with cats - UPDATE
Well, all cats are doing well. We brought all furniture/boxes, etc. over on Saturday except the master bedroom stuff, then at the very end we piled all three cats in the car and brought them to the new house. Monkey thinks he's died and gone to Disneyland, he is so excited and happy! He has explored...

Re: My new babies
Debbie - give it time and be patient with them all. Our older FuzzButt has never forgiven us for adopting the two younger boys, Monkey and Jet. She HATES them, but they have all learned how to tolerate each other, and they all have certain areas in the house that they claim as theirs. They'll take a...

Re: Moving with cats
Move... what move???? Grrrr.... we're still waiting. Seems the people buying our house had issues with their bank. They are approved for the loan, but their bank was being incredibly slow in processing the paperwork, submitting it to escrow, and has zero customer service. So... after two weeks of fi...

Another pet food recall
Just found this on a cat forum and wanted to share, since I know sooooo many of us Hallsonites have doggies and kitties... Looks like it was issued on Sept. 12th.

Re: Moving with cats
We're planning on doing most of the moving in just a day or two. All cats are terrified of being in the car, so I don't want to take them back and forth, just one car ride will be plenty traumatic for all of them LOL!. I think I may ask our vet for some Kitty-Valium for Fuzzy, just enough for a coup...

Moving with cats
We'll, we've finally sold our house and are hopefully moving to our new house in a week and a half. We're going to try to make it as easy a move as possible for our kitties, so I'm open to any ideas, suggestions, etc. FuzzButt is nine years old and has never been anywhere but this one house, and Mon...

Re: Catnip alternative
That was my kids... and I never thought of trying the flavor packets for noodles LOL!. We tried catnip, lavender, chamomile, thyme, rosemary, valerian and mint. Catnip came in first place, with chamomile and valerian a close second, and a few reacted to lavender. The other three didn't work as well,...

Re: Leash question
Hi Debbie - Only Monkey will tolerate the harness, we started him with it when he was 3 months old. The other two cats were older when we tried, and neither of them would accept it, they completely freaked out and were really scared. So, I think a lot of it is getting them used to it when they're st...

Re: Wilbur
He sure does look like he's jungle exploring out there! We are so lucky... our cats don't try to get out the door. Just yesterday someone was here doing work on the house, and I stood at the door to talk to him for a good 5 minutes. Monkey was right with me, but he never once tried to bolt outside. ...

Re: Hedge Hog
Yay!!!! Another exotic pet to go along with my three lizards LOL! There is a TON of good info out there on the Net, but unfortunately a lot of bad info also. Some of the forums are great places, and it's fairly easy after reading for a while to figure out who knows their stuff and who does not. That...

Re: Boy or Girl Kitten?
Oh, goodie, new kitten photos!!! Personally, our males have always been much more affectionate and much much less feisty than our females, but again, each cat has it's own personality, regardless of gender. So... we had FuzzButt (girl) for about 7 years when Monkey (boy) came into our lives as a 3-m...

Re: Fun art project with bamboo
Thanks... We had fun with it. At first when we only had the basic canes painted, both of my girls were unhappy with them and kept saying it looked bad. When we got the leaves on, it was much better, and with the final color coat they were really pleased :) I don't think they thought I was serious ab...
