I actually knew what that first orchid is!!! Caliloo, I bought a Phalaenopsis like the one in the first photo on April 13th. It is still blooming.... Watch out, orchids are addicting. David~someone who initiated me to orchids told me that orchids are to the plant world what man is to the animal king...

Karma~ Great tour!! Thanks. It's obvious that a lot of time and care is spent out there....nary a weed in sight. (Except for that one back and to the left of the large tomato plant..... ) What is "messenger" and why is one forbidden to use it this year? Seems to me......but then again.... :ro...

Spider!!
Went out to switch the sprinkler and found some renegades just getting ready to blow!

Want 'em????

They are currrently safely enclosed in a baggie on the kitchen counter. If you have enough, they can easily be deposited in the circular file where they would have gone anyway....

Earliest it's ever been available. One of the local farms here--they have the very best everything, especially the corn---trie...

Pam~
Could you eat it?? Or is this a type that is strickly ornamental? How large do the bulbs get? Now that I see the photo, I think there is a little of this type growing out at the cottage---not much though, I always pulled it up thinking it was a weed!!

Karma~Another garlic post reminded me I had posed this question here....

What is "social" garlic? And does it really keep the moles away? Just starting to see tell-tale tunnels on the perimeter of the lawn....

Does anyone grow garlic?

Too many interests....not enough time!!!! But one of Mom's Hospice volunteers dropped in last week and she was about to go visit her Dad who is an avid vegetable gardner. She mentioned that he grew fantastic garlic I've checked a couple of web sites as to "how to" and it looks like fun. And, sounds ...

Linda~ That is good to hear. If I have any luck w/ this, and the antenna as such is not used someday, I can see chopping it off, rather than removing it. Which is really planning ahead seeing as I am yet to plant the clematis. And my last attempt at one at the cottage wasn't too successful. However ...
