Re: Last of spring's daffodils
All my daffodils were just gorgeous this year, but are pretty much gone now. The tulips are also doing their thing, Its just heaven, having them out after the long winter. However, I don't have that particular type.

Re: "Fullofit" (wild4flowers)
Its been over a year since the last time I wrote here. Where did the time go. I find that as I get older, my time priorities change a lot. My husband and I have been using our camper more and doing some local traveling with his brother and wife. And we did spend a month in Florida this January. It g...

Re: Sandhill Cranes
I love the details of the feathers. We have a pair of sandhill cranes where I live, but they come up from the swamp to play beside the lake, and it is too far away for good pics. They are usually there early in the a.m. when it is foggy. I did see them one spring while the ice was still solid on the...

Re: Birds from Wildlfe Park
the area is Central, west coast, We stayed in the Port Richie area. During one of my walks in a small local State Park, I noticed that even though the park was nice, and the path was well kept, and it was secluded, there were no birds singing. I saw no birds at all. Must be this area had no songbird...

Birds from Wildlfe Park
While in Florida, we visited Homosassa Springs Park. What a nice little place to visit. We were there on a day that wasn't especially warm, so the traffic flow was limited. It was great. A nice little walking area with lots of well kept cages/free roaming areas. Even my husband was OK with this walk...

Shell Mound, Cedar Key, Florida
We are in Florida for the month of January, and have visited some sites. This pic is from the Shell Mound in Cedar Key Florida. This is where the Indians used to pile all their empty shells from the Gulf. It has made quite a large 'mound' and since then filled in with soil and debris. It is grown ov...

Re: Making Dolls
Yup, my mother too.
We are spending this month in Florida. Quite a change from Michigan, and I had to have something to do while I am here.
Unfortunately, we will be returning home at the end of the month. I will then go back to work (part time).
I love my little ole ladies. CHAR

Making Dolls
My latest project to work on is a pair of 'Little Old Ladies', sculptured dolls. I saw the pattern and just love their looks. The only thing not in these pictures are their purses (which are done now). I intend on getting the pattern for the Old Gentlemen, and doing those also. So tell me, do they r...

I have Autumn Clematis that pretty much stays where it is, I haven't noticed any volunteers. but.... I also have some 'wild' clematis, that has the same clematis leaves, and sprauling, wandering format. I haven't seen it flower, and it is a pest. It gets into everything and tries to 'vine up' my oth...

I checked the internet for pictures of zoo animals, when I found ones that I thought I could draw freehand, and ones that he had seen, I drew them on a sheet of typing paper. The paper was the right size for all the pieces of the quilt. Then after shopping extensively for zoo pattern cloth, I transf...

Apliqued Quilt
Since my grandson keeps on growing (he is 6), I got busy this winter to update his quilt.
Jacob and his father go to the zoo a lot, and this zoo theme was very appropriate.
Jacob was real impressed that I was making this quilt just for him.

Feb. 10, and 0 degrees here in Michigan. I made sure I did my trips to town yesterday, so I can cozy up indoors. High winds all night, so there are heavy drifts outside. Not to worry, the snow blower will get them someday when it gets warmer. Since I don't plan on working much this summer, I'll get ...

I checked it out too, and it looks really pretty, but is grown only where the ground doesn't freeze, where they have a wet winter. It is not a bulb but a corm (like glads). And glads have to come out in the winter. So while it is probably a good fund raiser for the school, it would have to be used a...
