Although I do believe that our dogs/cats have a sixth sense, most of what we see in these situations is their extraordinary ability to read our body language. Subtle little things such as walking in the room with our shoulders sagging, or grimmaces on our face are signs to our pets of our emotional ...

Debbie, yes! They shed a bunch. The coat is very similar to a GSD's. Thick, thick undercoat that comes out in sheets.

GF, is this the same as what they call "Old man's beard" in GB?
In this area the SAC has naturalized all over the place. Some are 20-30 ft up in the trees.

K, 6x6 concrete reinforcing wire makes great mater cages. Super strong and the 6x6 makes easy access.
I made a dozen of them 30+ yrs ago. My brother is still using them.

Jane, when you have a hole in your heart that can never be filled, just remember that your heart has lots more room. Not to replace a lost one but to add to the joys a new one can bring.
You've brough peace to two special friend!

Well, I shudda taken Deb's advice and used a frizbee. I really got tired of tossing the kids for Thunder to play fetch with. He finally gathered them all in a pile. Left to right: Kailey; Sierra holding Scott; Jordan; Riely and of course Thunder in the middle tasting Scott to see if he's a keeper. S...

Ursa

My little coyote's first official working pic. She'll be 5 months Sept 7th. Her sitz (sit), platz (down) and hier (here) are all doing great. In this pic were working on Fooze (heel). As I've mentioned before, all my training is off lead and motivational. Absolutely no corrections! http://www.rwdc.o...

Lots of good wasp and hornet sprays. Best/safest to apply at night and load it up. I've never had a problem getting rid of them.

Not so much that Ursa had to put Pete in his place. It was more like she wasn't about to put up with his bs. As a pup, Thunder was very respectful (submissive) to Pete. That's normal puppy behaviour. From the get go, Ursa wouldn't show submission to Pete. Luckily, I've been keeping a close watch on ...

Thunder is doing great! He's back on track for his Schutzhund I title in Nov or Dec. Ursa isn't as much a demon as I'd expect from a Mal but still has a lot of potential as a working dog. She's actually quite a little sweetheart.....till she starts doing her bite work   . She does have Pet...

How large (diameter) are the rocks?
It might be easier if you strapped the rocks to a plywood skid and drug the skid up the hill. The plywood would give you less resistance then the rock digging in the ground.
