Yes, the milkweed vine has white sap in it. I HATE those durn things but never realized they would attract the Monarch butterfly.

Shrews are a great asset to the garden. Hopefully they don't spend a very long time in the trap. Their metabolism requires them to eat their weight in food daily. That consists of anything and everything they can over power. Including mice and voles that are twice there size.

pics! My guess, based on the leaves in the middle pics and the bark, is Ailanthus "Tree of Heaven". We called them stink weed trees as a kid.
