Striptease sport

Post by redcrx »

A Striptease sport came back this season but I didn't get early pictures. The margin was probably yellow but has gone to green now. Have to wait and see if the center does anything unusual. It has 5 sprouts this season. Last year the original plant developed one sprout with reverse color which I potted.

Hmmm, maybe similar by the end of the season but this starts with a yellow margin. And to my eyes Silver Eagle has more of a grey/green center and a darker green margin. Everything is so early this year I didn't get a good photo. Here is a photo from last season when it started to sport.

Here is another shot today of the main Striptease still sporting - different angles of the same sport.

Just an update on this one. This is early in the season after it had unfolded in mid-May.

Just an update on this. It looks like a normal Striptease at this point. My Yellow Polka Dot Bikini look exactly the same. BTW, my son gave me a name for this one - 'Jezebel'.

I can't see any difference between your sport and a normal Striptease.

You are right - at this time of the year they are identical. The difference is in the Spring it comes up with a yellow margin. If you grow Hanky Panky or Yellow Polka Dot Bikini (or a bunch of other ones - Cabaret, Juha, Outer Space, etc.) they all look alike when they first come up and then as the season progresses they change in different ways.
Sometimes a late flush will look like it did in the Spring. In the Spring they will all look like the yellow edge sprouts in these photos. This is a late flush from last season's photos.

An update on this Striptease sport. It stands-out in a group. My name for it is 'Jezebel'.

This pot has 4 eyes of the sport and 2 eyes of the original Striptease that I was afraid to take off when I separated it from the "mother" plant.
