"Olive Oil" seedling

Even at the 2-leaf stage, this seedling stood out.

Yes, it was a yellow, but it was different from the others, in that it had an olive cast.......and the leaves were shiny. The leaves have a nice "droopy" habit, and the color has stayed consistent all 6 + months. Nicknamed: "Olive Oil".

In this photo, I tried to set up and show the difference in color, but the lighting was still too bright to do the job right

No, I didn't even know one existed--Just an "assigned" name.

It is from a 2nd gen. seedling of lost tag progeny(!) OP

Just looked it up in HL, I'm surprised someone would choose that goofy name! Sure not much on it, is there?

I saw it in the color encylopedia book. it looks like its never been introduced. because searches for it online come up empty nursery wise. and no one seems to have it on there list.

i'm trying to breed for a high gloss gold. thats why i'm interested.

Mine is "semi-gloss", not high gloss like Queen Jospehine, whereas all of my other yellow green

its funny you should mention queen josephine. which came from joseph. i've got 2 nice little gold seedlings from joseph this year. it will take some time to see how glossy they will be. hopefully i've got what i want.

What I meant to say was "all of my other yellow green seedlings are matte.

I have a tray of yellow seedlings, and this morning I noticed a single one with HIGH gloss---I'll take a photo after I go to the dentist , and we can take a look at it.

thats pretty nice. it would be great if that gets brighter as the season goes along. the gloss gives it a cleaner look.
