This poor girl, I dug her up last year to ammend the soil in the bed, got sick and didn't get her(or the rest) back in for 2 weeks. And now she's dug up again expanding the bed. Anyway, she had a name. I found part of the tag, but not the right part.
I was gonna go back and measure before I posted these, but I forgot and now it's dark.
She's a great grower and is usually beautiful if I'd leave her in the ground without cutworms.

I considered all 3 of those [Wolverine, Dark Star, & Gay Blade] when I looked at #2. I've got each. It's not gray enough to be Gay Blade. I don't think it's Wolverine - maybe Dark Star. Dark Star leaves are considerably more narrow when the plants are immature. But the margin on yours seems to be more regular - not much streakiness into the center. I'll see if I can find a pic of my Dark Star when I 1st planted the garden its in.

It sure looks like Dark Star to me in those last 2 pics.
I found a couple of older pics of mine.
Here it is in 2003 just after being planted in this spot behind the heucheras.
Here it is in 2005.
Neither is the best of pics, but you can see how quickly it has changed & the leaves started taking on their mature character.

Well, I keep looking at my old pics and your pics and they do look about the same. I also counted the veins and that also matches. The HL doesn't give a vein count, but yours is 9 pair.
Do the new leaves on yours come out with a limey yellow margin? And you may not know this cause I don't think you've dug yours up, but I replanted mine today and it separates really easy. Does yours?
