FreakyCola;
My youngest girl reminds me of your peronality
First, creat a list of all the things you need to do!
Do not purchase, leave your gardens, think about or ponder anything other than what's on your list.
Deal with the list first!
I would start with planting, or potting first.
Then I would purposely put all the physical items in my way to remind me that this has to get done.
Then tape, paste, upholster, the Do not purchase, leave your gardens, think about or ponder anything other than what's on your list to very pile, your car steering wheel, doors and fridge. Eventually either you or your family will get sick of seeing this or tripping over them, and it will get deal with.
Who knows, you just may recruite some help without even asking!
I really hope this helps

Izzy, Izzy, Izzy, Izzy. I already have those lists of things to do. Boy, if I had to sit down & write another one I'd be here till next winter!
What do you mean don't leave your garden? I have to work, sleep & eat. I'd love to stay out there all the time, but those damn bosses think you have to go there to get paid. Imagine that! And don't mention housework or doing errands. (Coz I try to forget all that! So don't mention it! )
"Do not ponder anything else" OK. I can't help it. When I get out there my imagination starts going crazy & I think of all sorts of new stuff to do. I can't help it!
Also, when part of my plan starts off with something I don't want to do I tend to put it off. Like, to paint the side of the garage for my octopus garden I first have to cut down a rosebush that is about 8'wide and 5' tall.
Last year I was determined to get that garage painted. I actually cut down the rose bush & all the other plants there so I'd have a wide area to work in. It looked great too by the way, and my son & hubby both commented that we actually still had a garage. They hadn't seen it for so long they'd forgot it was there. Yeah, my plants kinda get a little jungle like sometimes. Yeah, you couldn't see the door but hey, I used the other door so that didn't matter to me!
OK, so the plants are cut back, things are looking up then life gets in the way. By the time I could get to painting it started raining. Every day I had time off it rained or I had something else I had to do. I swear the weatherman was conspiring against me!
Then the plants grew back & that darn rose bush put out the most wonderful smelling roses. Oh they were so lovely. So I couldn't cut it back again, I just couldn't!
My plants read my mind. I had secretly been planning to dig that bush up & sell it but when I smelled the intoxicating scent I decided to keep it. So I thought I'd move it at least, but then I wouldn't smell it so much, so now I don't know what to do about it. Translation: the garage probably won't get painted!
"Do not purchase anything else". Do you honestly think that's gonna happen? Come on!
I have had the rule "Do not buy anything else until you have everything planted you bought the last time" for so long. I just don't obey it. Rules are meant to be broken! Yeah!
I also have the rule "Don't buy any seeds" coz I really have no space for planting & tons of seeds I've purchased before. I'm so crazy for color after the winter that I can't resist buying them.
The other day I saw 2 packs of seeds, a double pink morning glory & a pack of sorta black & white nasturtiums. I bought them, thinking I'd never seen them before, got home & found the exact same 2 packs from last year. I could swear I'd never heard of a double morning glory, but apparently I heard of it last year long enough to buy the pack & forget where I put it.
I made the rule last year not to plant in pots for my front porch anymore coz it takes so much time away from gardening. So then why did I buy a bunch of pots that were clearanced out at work? Why? Coz they sold $20 pots for $1 that's why! I couldn't pass that up!
OK, so first you want me to start with planting. First I have to ponder where to put them all, so there goes your plan! Can't ponder, can't plant! So I may as well go out & buy something!
I like Anne's solution: retirement. Course, then I wouldn't have enough money to buy all this stuff. It's a vicious circle!
