The link on how-to-ship does not work for me, has that page been taken down?

For anyone new to trading by mail, remember to use Priority Mail, with Delivery Confirmation. Boxes are available free at the Post Office. (USA)

Thanks for organizing this, Nathalie!

Thanks for fixing the link!

I don't know that I agree with the shredded newspaper (or 'peanuts) idea. Makes for a mess on the receiving end.

After following the other guidelines, I like to roll up each plant individually in a SHEET of newspaper. This can be lightly fastened together with a small piece of tape.

Each plant is then placed in an appropriately-sized box, where it will not have room to move about anyway. If there is a small gap left, a piece of crumpled newspaper might be a good idea.

I've never had a problem with a crushed box, other than the long triangular ones which seem to get crushed in the middle fairly often.

It sounded like a good idea, but after looking at some others' "hosta list"s, I realized that I'm completely out of *that* league!

However, it convinced me that I should place an order. 8-)

Have fun everyone!

party-music, even people with hundreds of hostas are very happy to receive a package, especially if there is a hosta or two they do not already have on their list, even older ones. And companion plants are always welcome as well, to round things out. This is a great way for you to add to your collection also. Some people use the secret trade as an opportunity to go hosta shopping and buy a nice multi-eyed hosta to split and share with their trader.

Lucy, so sorry you won't be playing... If you are short of room, maybe it is time to start a NEW bed!
