Thanks! Tonight they tried to flood him out. He ran, but they didn't shoot him. Maybe he'll look for a new home somewhere else! Keep your fingers crossed!

I saw a doe yesterday evening too in our back yard, I rarely see one this close. I was wondering if the flooding had anything to do and was affecting their normal hang out area? The river is highest it's been in years and peaking today, has covered most of the fields and woods here.
No damage here. Is it flooded by you also?

We have no flooding whatsoever! In fact, we could use more rain! Hard to believe we have deer!

We have adopted my son's older pit bull, Sheena, who is a nice, docile lady. That is, she was docile until she learned we had a family of groundhogs living on the property.
She spent 8-10 hours a day laying on the grass watching one or the other of the holes until . . . .BAMM!
Killed one of the babies. This was, unfortunately, during my grandson's 2nd birthday party and caused a lot of screaming and jumping up and down. But inside I was thrilled and knew I'd be cooking that dog a steak later.
Less than a week later she got the mama (or poppa). It was over 24" long and I'm glad to be rid of it.
She's still watching the holes so there must be more in there somewhere.
Anyone need to borrow a dog?

Becoming a grandmother is wonderful. One moment you're just a mother. The next you are all-wise and prehistoric. ~Pam Brown
