H. Silver Bay...looking good
For what ever reason our Silver Bay is just an awesome plant to look at right now. When scanning the backyard my eyes are always caught on it and it's color. This is one that Chris picked out for us on a visit when we were just getting started (2 years ago?) Just thought I'd share....certainly worth getting if you don't have one.
Also pictured are Holy Mole (another suggestion from Chris - looking good too) and Invincible. The picture really has a tough time capturing it too. Oh well.

Re: H. Silver Bay...looking good
Wow, that is pretty. I just love the blues. I was torn between that one and Flemish Sky and now I think I made the wrong choice!
Re: H. Silver Bay...looking good
My Silver Bay is also looking good this year. It is only its first year as I planted it late last fall. My eye keeps going to it also and I wondered what hosta it was until I remember I had planted a Silver Bay. It is sure cupped and pebbably for its first year and such a nice poweder blue. I did get Flemish Sky this year so we will see how they compare. Thanks for sharing yours.

Not a wrong choice, Noreaster. Just a different choice. You'll get Silver Bay next time around. They're both very nice hostas & not all that similar - except they're both blue.
Your Silver Bay & Holy Mole are both lookin' great, Steg!!

That's the best picture of silver bay I have seen. Thanks for posting it.

That is just lovely!
I was lamenting that I lost my favorite powdery blue seedling last winter to crown rot - I think Silver Bay would be a fitting replacement. I love the light blue rugose sturdy fellas and SB certainly fits that description. Great photo you enabler you

Thanks all. For whatever reason it just looks great this year. This is also the best Holy Mole has looked. Must be a nice spot. I think I may have to move a couple of the smaller ones around back there as they are getting lost.

Re: H. Silver Bay...looking good
Joan gave me a Silver Bay as a gift a while back, but I must have it in too much shade, because it isn't getting bigger.
I just bought a second one to put in a lot of sun, after I heard Don Dean talking about how sun tolerant it is, and maintaining the blue color so well.
I used the pollen from Joan's last year to put on some streakers and got a couple of really nice seedlings fom it, so I will do that again this summer.

I have had it since 2009.
When it first came in: A couple of years later matched in the garden with Sum of All and Winter Snow.
