Who's going to be at the AHS Convention in Lansing???

Post by jgh »

Though I'm know as "Cliffy" (CHEERS reference) for my amazing recall of absolutely inessential trivia - I'm absolutely horrible with names. I get my kids right... but it sometimes takes several tries.

Anyway, as non-joiners and non-attenders, we only know a couple of people face-2-face that will be at the convention. So whom among our Hallsons friends will be attending?

I was wondering the same myself - although I won't be leaving the nursery I sure hope some of you can stop by and say hello. We are an hour to an hour an a half south of Lansing, but we stay open until dark every night so it could be a little evening excursion. At dark the blood sucking vampires come out in droves (aka mosquitoes) but the firefly show sort of makes up for them (sort of).

Hopefully we will have a chance to see you too Jim :)

I should be there by late Wednesday. Depending on the time it takes for me to get there. I'm guessing 12-13 hours from home, but planning on getting an earlier start from Ankeny that morning so we will see. It all depends on the amount of construction going on in the Chicago area...

Looking at the convention schedule, Wed. evening is the only nite that there isn't a dinner included as part of the convention. Maybe we could come down to see Chris & Brian that evening. Otherwise I was planning to stop there when I head back home on Monday. Guess it's time to pull out my atlas & really see where everything is located.

We thought about it, but weren't able to make it happen this year. Maybe another time....

I wish I was, but it will remain a distant dream this year. :(

If you happen to meet the Belgian delegation, Danny Van Eechaute and Hugo Philips,
give them my best wishes (if there's an auction, that's where you'll find them).

Greetings,

Rob

I'm driving up Wednesday, but plans are somewhat flexible. I told Ken Marek we would help him in his Garden, but no specific time.
Jim you should post recent pictures of yourself so we know what you look like.
I will be with my parents, my aunt and her Sister-in Law most of the time.
My pic is here so you may have to stop me and introduce yourself.

Hi Dave,

You can find pictures of Jim (at least I'm assuming they are pictures of Jim  ) in his latest travelogues playing out right now on the garden bench forum :D

I'm going. I have some volunteer duties and then on Friday/Saturday I'm a tour bus captain. Right now the weather forecast looks really good - mid '80's, chance of rain Thursday am - otherwise partly/mostly sunny! I've seen a couple of the tour gardens and they are looking great!

One shameless plug for my alma mater - Michigan State - if any of you like great ice cream, the dairy store is a must visit - really great ice cream (I worked there as a student years ago and made plenty of it!) - and they also sell really good cheese. Here's the link

Well Ken and Bruce & Trudy will surely find the ice cream store. And I'll be right behind them. ;)

We have a room reserved that we may not need, or I can use a roommate. I could stay with my Mom and Dad. If anybody wants the room or a roommate, please let me know today. You can call me at 440-364-3800.

If it stays this hot we might have to find that ice cream store twice a day for ice cream splitters
