I was working on some photos of yellow seedlings and this photo of a wasp sitting on a yellow hardy orchid flower showed up:

Each of these guests are incredible!
Just think, if we only had grass lawns we would miss many of these guests.
These moths were hanging out on a 'Satisfaction' petiole. I was saying "get a room". They were saying "mind your own &**#@& business". It is so fun to coexist with our guests.

Re: Guests to our garden
I am enjoying the moth and butterfly photos!
My family love watching birds come to our backyard feeder. We wanted to personalize our home, and so we began taking photos of these birds (not so easy a task!). We now have a grouping of photos on our kitchen wall which we call "our backyard friends." Here are a couple of photos.

In the beginnings of my garden I used to get these visitors all the time before the fences were replaced.

While cleaning out some raised beds and troughs today, I run into this small gray treefrog.
It's sitting on Soldier Boy. The yellow plant on the left is Ogon Tsushima.

The squirrel and I have a deal...I give her a granola bar once a week, and she leaves my hostas alone. So far, so good...

Re: Guests to our garden
On the other hand, my husband woke today to find a drowned deer in our little pool (water feature). Ick.
Re: Guests to our garden
While clearing up from the storm I found these holes on one of the branches. The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker does this. Never saw one in my yard but they are around. When I was working at Rutgers in Camden, NJ, I got pictures of a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and learned about the holes they make.

Re: Guests to our garden
Eeeeeyow...The reason I like deer is because they can't really get to my hostas. I'm sure that's the only reason
Re: Guests to our garden
Found this little guy in my garage yesterday. I think it came in with a hosta that needed re-potting after being crushed by a fallen pine tree. (Finally got rid of the last two trees downed by the storm - this was the last pot to salvage.)

I thought I would post this photo here since the plant wouldn't be here next year.
A volunteer cherry tomato plant at the front of my south side hosta bed. It seems to love the spot.

Later in the day on Saturday I tracked a Hummingbird and got some photos of him hitting my Iron Gate Supreme.
That evening I caught the Night-blooming cereus in flower about 9 PM - a rare event.
This morning, while still cleaning up after the party, I found a small Gray Tree-frog in a cooler that was overfilled with soda cans so the lid wasn't closed all the way.
