Re: Calendar art
Thank you for the additional flower photos. I can see there is so much variety to the purple flower. My favorite one is Ogon Tachi . . . love the stripes!

Re: Calendar art
Almost is a very nice hosta indeed! Aurora's Glow has such interesting margins. First Frost---I love that hosta! I had had an opportunity to purchase a good size Luna Moth for a decent price and passed on it! Now every time I see a photo of it I am reminded of my poor decision. Pretty group picture with the azalea's(?) blooming. The photo of Kiwi Full Monty, Alan Titchmarsh & Striptease is great! All very nice redcrx!
Re: Calendar art
Yes, those are azaleas in flower mixed in with the hosta.

Re: Calendar art
We got lucky with the storm. We had 8 inches Friday night. It let up around 11 AM and we only had light flurries for about 11 hours. Then we got about 2 inches as the storm pulled away. I had cleared the 8 inches Saturday afternoon so there wasn't much to do Sunday except open the driveway where the plows had piled it and dig out the mailbox. I'm about 40 miles west of Atlantic City. Many areas were getting 2 feet or more of snow.
Here is the calendar from 2014 for some nice warm pictures.

Group scene with Cordelia. The Cordelia is hard to find because the biggest piece along the right edge had lost its white edge.
Group scene with Majestic & Crystal Moon
Group scene with mountain laurel & Mata Hari & Hanky Panky along with Kiwi Full Monty and Striptease in back. In fact you can find Bubble Dance (seen earlier in this set) along the left edge along with T-Dawg (yellow center) and CVG Can Can (white center). The white centered plant behind Kiwi Full Monty is White Bikini and the small plant in front of KWM is Cabaret.

Re: Calendar art
Hi Ed, your pictures look great! I really like that Ooh La La as well as your gold seedling Bri-Sun. What's the background on that one, any idea or is it a weedling?
Re: Calendar art
Bri-Sun is sitting downhill from a my rectifolia group (and my Mouse group but it's not from there). So it could be from there BUT the flowers are wrong. I have been thinking it's from Designer Genes. The leaf color works but it doesn't have the petiole color - just a few dots when it starts out. I have Designer Genes on the other side of my patio and I'm thinking I picked up a seed on my shoe from there and dropped it. The flowers are similar and at the same time. I don't know what it was crossed with - the only thing in flower near Designer Genes during its flowering time was Madison Mine but there are others further away.
Some other differences from Designer Genes is the pie-crust leaf edge and the leafy scapes with smooth edged leaves.

Re: Calendar art
Here is a calendar form the 2011 season. I pulled together my own sports.
Aurora's Glow - sport of Gold Standard Take the Green Path - sport of Pathfinder Dubious Behavior (early) - sport of Hanky Panky - this picture didn't make the calendar, I'm putting here to show the color change in the plant. Dubious Behavior' (later) - sport of Hanky Panky - both pictures show a tiny fragment of the original Hanky Panky in the center of the plant and it goes through its color change also. Trisha's Sunny Paradise - all yellow sport of Paradise Sunshine

Re: Calendar art
Continuing with the 2011 calendar of my sports.
Gold Standard reverse sport - this one didn't survive or at least the white center didn't continue. The plant continues to show some white once in a while. In the 2015 season 3 pieces showed white streaking. Fragrant Bouquet - not really a sport but always more variable than the true Fragrant Bouquet Orange Rose - basically an all yellow sport of Gypsy Rose but show a thin green edge sometimes Right Around Morning Sunrise - sport of Minuteman Standard's Bands - a reverse sport of Gold Standard

Continuing the 2011 calendar
Slate Arrow Heads - sport of Hanky Panky - this was later renamed Lottie to keep the naming in the Striptease line (I know I didn't have to but I discovered the name later)
In the photo are two other sports - Take the Green Path (above) and Matthew's Sharp Edge Matthew's Sharp Edge - sport of Independence Stephanie in Moonlight - sport of Gold Standard Minute After A Rainy Sunset - sport of Right Around Morning Sunrise - this was a late photo of this plant but it was the best I had from 2011. I could have "cheated" and put in a better photo from 2010 but I wanted only 2011 photos here.

Re: Calendar art
Ed, are these all sports from your garden? Haven't seen them listed in the HL, they deserve to be there. I know Bill is in the middle of doing an update, why not send him pictures of all the sports you have that are 3 years and older and have them added to the HL for all to see.
Re: Calendar art
Yes, they are or were (lost some of them) all from my garden.
I have sent pictures of the best ones to the Hosta Library: Orange Rose, Lottie, Aurora's Glow and Dubious Behavior. I will look at sending others.
I was just looking over there and couldn't find Jezebel - I thought I had sent over - it's a Striptease sport I have shown here many times. I don't think it ever made it to a calendar.

Here is an old one (2010) my son named Platinum Status. It's an unstable Gold Standard that I dug up and split when it really became interesting last season - hope it comes back this season.
