Allan P. McConnell - Streaked Sport?
Found this today in a mass edger planting around our "lily" garden (which is about 50% hostas!). 4 big leaves all on one growth, I didn't even think about it...cut it out and planted it elsewhere so I can keep an eye on it! Kinda neat, all streaky on the inside, but still with the white border. I'd be REALLY happy if this developed into something more but kept the same look it has now!

Re: Allan P. McConnell - Streaked Sport?
It looks a bit unstable so will be fun to watch and see how it settles out after a few years.

Re: Allan P. McConnell - Streaked Sport?
So Chris, any ideas on how to keep it more streaky like it is? I presume if this comes back streaky and starts putting out streaky growths, it would be headed in that direction, and then anything that stabilizes or reverts I'd just hack off (like all the Inspire Greatness I get off my Brave Attempts) while keeping this a streaker? If I recall correctly, I think my Allan P. McConnells set a ton of seed pods each fall that I never do anything with; I presume if this one sets anything I should yank it and try growing with it to see if I get any streaked seedlings?

After years of getting plowed down by Rabbits, I pulled and potted this plant this year. It STILL has the same lovely unstable patterning in it, it's very consistent. But I really need to grow this one up quite a bit! It seems very vigorous, has just been set back year after year by rabbits.
