Name: H. 'Francee'

Description: Heart-shaped dark green leaves with narrow white margins. Medium growth rate.
Size: Medium
Origin: sport of H. 'fortunei Albomarginata'
Flowers: Funnel-shaped lavender, on upright, leafy scape. Late in the season.
Added to garden: Late 1990's. One of my earliest Hostas.
Notes: One of the most popular hostas. This particular plant was a small division, in 2007 from a place that was too dark and too dry. It really took off and has grown very quickly with more sun and more moisture.

This has to be my all time fav hosta yes an old variety but I just find it stunning in its simplicity. Mine is now a single division I just hope it soon bulks up.

I've just divided mine, but the pics were taken earlier in the season. I needed to move it because everything around it was yellow margin, yellow leaves or yellow centred leaves. It looked out of place with its white margins. I divided it, planted two large divisions in other parts of my yard and potted up two smaller ones for a plant sale.

I divided mine at the end of 2012. Got some divisions for a plant sale and planted what was left int 2 different spots. Now I have two lovely 'Francee' plants. This is one in the middle of July.

2016 update. Both divisions are doing well.
