pycnophylla is a species plant with red petioles, white-backed leaves with a rippled edge. It is used in many breeding programs to pass on these traits.

I have had this plant since 2010. It's never grown for me but I have never had it in the right spot - it may be better next season. Never seen it flower.

I moved pycnophylla into the garden last year. It seems to be doing well.
