Re: Pic of the Day--Guardian Angel
I did not have my own GA until 2017. But I had bought one and planted it in the hosta garden at my church. I had hoped to get a division from it in 2016 but that didn't happen. In 2017, we lost the shade tree for that hosta garden and the "powers" (read the self-appointed head gardener) decreed that the hosta garden would be dismantled. I went and got the plant before the gardening committee had a chance to do anything with it and I took three divisions from it - one for myself, one for the interim minister we had in 2016-17 (a woman who likes to garden and would enjoy having the memento from our church) and another smaller one for a young woman I'm encouraging who is a fledgling hostaholic. Then I took both my own division and the rest of the plant home. The main plant resides in a slightly shady spot at the back of my veggie garden and is doing well. My own division got the spot vacated by 'Ice Age Trail' which I divided out all the 'Big Daddy' in it and put it into a large pot.
This is my division July 19. And this is the larger part which is still in my garden. July 19.
