Secret Trade names are sent!

Post by Roxanne »

Hi everyone! If you got into the secret trade, you should have a pm.

I want to remind everyone that the mailing deadline is June 11, and the sooner the better, before hot weather kicks in.

It's best to mail on Monday or Tuesday so the plants won't have to sit at the post office, and get stressed out.

Anyone with issues should pm me and I will answer as soon as humanly possible.

Got my name too and did some "research" on my secret trader, so now I just have to decide what to send. What fun!! :D
Thanks ,Rox, for getting the names out so quickly. I'll try not to be one of the stragglers with shipping my package off.

Reminder to self: some day I need to reenter my list so all the hostas are in alphabetical order. heehee. It's not so bad as it could be. But I'll be happy with almost anything. Some of y'all's lists scare me!

Well I had to do a little digging, but I eventually found my tradee's hosta list. So I will be getting to work on that today - hopefully get it out today or tomorrow. I've got some good possibilities & the list was updated not too long ago.

There seems to be the idea that if something is sent out by the post office late in the week [Thurs-Sat] that it just sits somewhere & doesn't move again until Monday. But several years ago, I received a pkg w/hostas on a Mon or Tues that was mailed on a Friday or Saturday. So they do keep on movin. :P And that's good!! That being said - I still try to get my pkgs out on Mon or Tues.

Thanks again for taking this on, Rox!! :D

Got my traders name too, ohh what fun! I have some picked out, and will finish deciding today, even have a special lil something to add that doesn't have roots
I plan to ship it out tomorrow if the weather holds well today.
Thanks so much for doing all this for us Roxanne :D

I KNOW we all treasure our secret trades, whatever they are... and we don't want to be greedy so we always say something like "I'm happy with whatever you would like to share" - and that is true for me as a recipient...

BUT

from the point of view of the sender, I really like trying to find things the other person doesn't have, so I'd like to encourage folks to update their lists.

What fun... last night I made a tentative list, walking around the garden in the dark with my headlight!

I'm told the mail does keep moving, even on Sundays, but of course is not delivered that day. Still, I try to mail on Tuesdays, still plenty of time for Priority Mail to get there, and avoids the Monday lines at the Post Office.

Some of my favorite hostas, by the way, are those I received in a secret trade and never heard of, or knew I wanted!
