Hosta 'Little Maddie'

Post by Marlys »

Hallsonite - Trudy Van Wyk registered her first hosta 'Little Maddie' with AHS. The spring newsletter of the ROHS (Russ O'Hara Hosta Society) included an article all about 'Little Maddie'.

I am blessed to have 'Little Maddie' included in my mini-hosta bed #40. Trudy gave it to me last fall. It is so cute! And it grows so well!

Would that be Hallsonite Trudy whose Hallson login is "Trudy?"

Yep - our Hallson's Trudy [who is a sweetheart] is the same Trudy who is the hybridizer of 'Little Maddie' named for her granddaughter.

Marlys, thanks for sharing that article. Congratulations to Trudy for the registering of her hosta. It sure is a cute one, streaked & misted, it doesn't get much better than that.
Good Job :D

Thanks for all the kind words about "Little Maddie".

You can find a picture of a more mature plant in the Hosta Library. "Little Maddie" is one of those hostas that changes color with the seasons.

As the leaves grow during the seasons, they change to a darker color, newer leaves are lighter again.

Thanks to Marlys for writing the very nice article for the Russ O' Harra newsletter.
