Hi All--Sea Yellow Sunrise is one of those varieties that seldom gets more than a quick glance from visitors to our garden. It is a perfectly good variety, its just that there is not much about its appearance that makes it stand out. It had been growing in our garden since 1998 in a spot that might get a couple of hours of direct sun in the middle of the summer. This spring I moved it to another location, where it still gets about that much sun. Its size had topped out at about 36x15, considerably more than the registration size given by Lemke, 18x12. Like most varieties, Sea Yellow Sunrise benefits from slug protection.

Hank, maybe a hosta garden of all standouts would be like a choir made up of all soloists . . . perhaps some "blenders" are of value in both situations.
I like how some of these non-standouts provide good background, framing the standouts and making them pop.
As always, lovely picture! (BTW, I'm still drooling over the pictures of your hillside!)

Yes, this one has a reason for being there, and it's looking nice!
