Sweet Standard
does anyone have some imput to this hosta. i would like to know if it is stable and how it grows for them. maybe any thoughts on it seeds. thanks in advance
Fast grower and while I have yet to have to divide mine after 5-6 years, I wouldn't call it stable. Some parts of my plant are definitely more streaked than others.
As far as seeds go, it is one of the fragrant varieties and as a whole they are difficult to hybridize with. I do usually get a few pods, but I don't think they have quite enough time to ripen in my climate. If you could get mature seed, I would expect some streaked seedlings, though.
If you are looking for a streaker to use for hybridizing, I would choose something different.
