Last one standing

This picture was taken today.
It sits among the other (dormant) seedlings, outdoors, no protection.

Hosta 'Inuit' would make a good name, maybe ??

I agree....H.'Inuit' WOULD make a great name for that one! It's hard for me to believe that there are hostas still looking that good in mid December. Mine have been down for quite a while now. The only thing showing is the scapes that I left in place. I never cut those, because they will help me next spring when I go out and start doing my "eye search". :)

Rob, I am jealous!
It has been a while since I saw the last Hosta leaf and I don't live that far away I am guessing 400 - 500 km???

I do not belive my own eyes... a hosta with green.... Okay it is a seedling and they can be late... but mid December.

Inuit... A special name for a Dane with a Greenland renter... do not know if you can register a name and not the size of the plant.

Hi Pia,

You can reserve a name, but you cannot register it without certain plant characteristics like plant and leaf size. This is due to international regulations.

Amazing to see green...I wonder if it will continue this when it's older...

That is amazing! We are covered in layers of ice and snow here. It will be interesting to see if that one is really late going to sleep next year too.

Hello all,

I do really not have any plans to register or to name this plant.
It needs at least 5 more beautiful summers to find out if it is any good, and as we all now, few are chosen.

It just was sompething special for mid december.

Greetings,

Rob

We've had very temperate weather. My last one standing went down about a week ago. That was Niagara Falls.

While not quite as big as yours Rob, this little Revolution seedling from this spring, has this one leaf that's still hanging in there......
