Hi All--Lucy Vitols was purchased in 1999. It is growing in a bed that gets about 3 hours of mid-day sun. The variety was introduced by Mildred Seaver who was uncertain of it parentage. Based on its appearance and slow growth rate, I suspect that a Tokudama is somewhere in the gene pool. Starting in 2001 it has measured 21x9, 29x12, 31x14, 32x16, 34x17, 38x17, and 39x19. That might be the steadiest growth rate in our collection. Zilis' listing is 40x18 while Lemke's registration information is 16x10. Slug damage has been easily controlled.
