H. Dancing Queen

Post by mooie »

Dancing Queen was new to me last year so I didn't really get a chance to see how gorgeous it was when it emerged until this spring. I just love the piecrust edges and the lovely lemon color! (Even tho it has a rabbit bit edge!)

Very pretty! I love the yellow/gold ones and I do love the piecrust edges too. Does that one stay yellow all season or does it green up later on?

Lookin good Mooie!

Hey, Party_music50...this is a Central NY hosta! Born & raised in North Syracuse   This plant should become more available in a year or two as a few labs both here and in Europe are now producing this hosta.

Thy,
you know me and my obsession with putting all of my hostas into some sort of "theme" bed.
I could imagine the "take" on the name dancing queen as being naughty, because she might be dancing in a strip club, or the "queen" part of it becuase it might be a "he" doing the dancin'

Kent... correct me if I'm wrong... but I have to assume the reference is the the superhit ABBA song... so it's not a reference to a royal person or to a strip club dancer or male dancer... though the full lyrics do suggest the dancer is something of a tease when she's in the limelight!

Dancing Queen

You can dance you can jive having the time of your life
See that girl watch that scene diggin’ the dancing queen

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music’s high
With a bit of rock music everything is fine
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

You are the dancing queen young and sweet only seventeen
Dancing queen feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance you can jive having the time of your life
See that girl watch that scene diggin’ the dancing queen

You’re a teaser you turn ’em on
Leave them burning and then you’re gone
Looking out for another anyone will do
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

You are the dancing queen young and sweet only seventeen
Dancing queen feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance you can jive having the time of your life
See that girl watch that scene diggin’ the dancing queen
Diggin’ the dancing queen
Diggin’ the dancing queen
Diggin’ the dancing queen
