Secret Trade Received!

Post by Pandora »

Yipeeeee! I am first! I am first! :D

Oh my Gosh! I came home from a stressful 4 hour meeting at work and I see the most beautiful basket in my driveway.

I slowed down and could tell that they were hostas...WHAT! How would a basket of hostas be in my drive ? ,,,, with a bow and pretty paper liner,,, and a pink flower in front.

I had to stop before pulling in the garage to get a closer look at this phenomenon. There in the middle was a professional florist pick with an envelope ........

"Hallson's Secret Trade"

My trader was local and she took the time to hand deliver it. I sure wish I could have been home. It was MySkyBlue2. She lives about 20 minutes away.

I got:
Hosta "T-Rex" - on the top of my wish list
Hosta "Lakeside Dividing Line" - actually a secret wish, but somehow forgot it on the list
Hosta "Midnight Ride" - I really need some darker green, the leaves are beautiful (she's a mind reader too)
AND a pink New guinea impatiens - perfect for the shade garden (of course these can take more sun)

Thank you so much Laura. The hostas are all so great and the presentation is awesome!

That is so cool that your trader is local. A couple years ago I was matched up with a trader that was only about 30 minutes away. Following the trade we connected, toured each others gardens a couple of times, shared a trip to First Look and now we are planning a trip to England next Spring to tour some amazing gardens. There's nothing like the "friendship plant" to bring a couple of people together!

What a fantastic surprise, Pandora! I have met Laura before and she was my secret trader one year. She "lured" me down to her place and surprised me with my trade. I truly do think she has a bit of a spy in her soul. Of course we had to go hosta shopping and have lunch too. She's a lovely woman and very generous with her trades, as you can see.
Well done, Laura! :D

WOW - better than Christmas.
Got my stash from maidinshade this noon and potted them up quick before going back to work. I got 6 that I didn't have on my list at the time she shipped them. (I bought a large single-crown Praying Hands on Memorial Day so added my new trade to the pot).
She sent wonderful healthy,big-rooted plants - t if them, and a little (easy-clean!) hummingbird feeder.
I got:
Praying hands
Kabuki
Twist of Lime
Kabitan
Heartsong
