My first guess would be 'On Stage', or 'Choko Nishiki'...which may be the same or very similar plant to 'On Stage'. Is the jury still out on that one?

Hi Linda, I bought way too many plants last year. I did buy On Stage and it does look similar except for the width of the leaves (but that could be age related). I don't remember buying two of them.

My first thought was also On Stage, but it is usually a little brighter by August, like in your second pictures. The variable width margin is common with this one.

If these two hostas are the last plants to come up and come up at about the same time then they could both be On Stage. The last 3 to come up here are On Stage, Paradise Backstage, and Mountain Snow.

Thanks Chris, I didn't think about telling the difference (or similarity) in plants by their sprouting time.

I can use that on some other questionable hostas. I have some unnamed that look like Loyalist and are in the same area.

Just noticed On Stage is up about an inch. It might be the last to come up. Now I have find the other one but it's in more shade. I'm still waiting for Winter Lightning - may have lost it.

I have a few Whirlwind in the same area and they are all well up at this point. I need to hunt around and hope it's a little up by now.

Found it sprouting, so it is late and the same time frame as On Stage. Still need to see the leaves but it's looking like On Stage.

Wow, look at all that room! You have quite the space there, and not a weed in sight. Hopefully you will share more pictures of this hosta oasis as they grow up

This whole area was cleared of brush about 3 years ago. SIx inches of pine needles and leaves were removed. I'm still digging of the greenbrier - there is one sprig right behind this littel plant - nasty thorns. This is my oldest cluster - this is the third year those plants have been in. The ones across the back were planted last season.

That's Fortunei Albopicta in the foreground in it "pretty" form. Actully there are three of them there with Krossa Regal standing out right behind them.
