BTW Mark,
That's a large 'Francee' showing in the lower right corner of my 'Liberty' above. I agree, it's a great plant and so is 'Fortunei Aureomarginata' which you can see behind 'Liberty'.

Here's a "greenie" that makes a big, bold, beautiful, shiny statement in my garden.

I just got Emerald Necklace a few weeks ago so I am looking forward to it maturing.
The hostas mentioned in this thread are definitely winners. The one hosta that I cannot live without is GE---even if it decided to give me a blue leaf (which I will remove).

Big Daddy has done well for me, too. It's in it's second year here.

Beauty, Esox! If you could pick a third, is it safe to guess it might be Journey's End?
Re: The hosta I couldn't live without is...
OK, Don....you've goaded me into going out and taking a couple of pictures.
A closeup of Journey's End.
And a shot of montana Aureomarginata.

Whose says "greenies" can't be bold and outstanding in a garden. I love my Grape Fizz with its glossy, wavy, heavy leaves. It also produces a lovely large purple and white hyacinth like flower in late summer. Over 4 ft wide in its fourth year.
