Hostas, Clematis, Impatiens

Post by SWMOgardens »

This is one of my favorite places to sit and stare at my hostas. These Ventricosa Aeromarginata will have pretty flowers in a couple of weeks.

That is so nice! I'll just sit and drink my coffee there this morning....

Some interesting factoids about this picture. The double rocker is teak from Sams club. It was about $175ish. I like the lumbar support. The wind blew it over on the green Japanese maple (far right). The maple looked destroyed but I kept it and now it has the coolest branch structure. The rocker also smashed a glass gazing ball to pieces, this one is metal. I put a stick behind the rocker and it can't get enough momentum to fall over anymore. The Clematis has been in the ground for 3 years, this is the first year it has any quantity of flowers. And honestly it was pure luck the color matched the impatiens although I just say thank you when people compliment me on my fine color eye. The rock wall was built by a man named Rock. The Oak leaf hydrangea is the only plant in the garden my wife doesn't like, she says it looks like a giant weed. The flowers smell magnificant this year. The 2 barrells my wife bought at a garage sale for $5 each, they were brand new. I use pine needles from my neighbors yard as a carpet for this room. And, the hostas were doing very poorly in another spot in the garden. I moved them here and said "this is your last chance, look good here or out you go". That was several years ago, they made the cut.
