Please tell me about it.

My friends have it and it is so lovely, but have been extremly slow. it have the longest legs I have ever seen on a hosta at all, but is said to be semi upright :hmm: ,l.

It is growing in a rather shaded area in their nordic garden.

When is it registered / put on the market ?

I have Stargate in my beds and have only had it for 2 years now, but it's grown very fast. Easily tripled from when it arrived. And yes, it has very long legs! It's in several hours of sun and just sending out its scapes so should be blooming soon. Don't have a pic from this year, but later I will go get one and post it for you!

I believe that is a streaked plant out of Flower Power, and it should be an upright hosta, but in time that might change as it mounds a little. Sort of like Regal Splendor that is upright but older ones look more like a mound.

Stargate, I believe, was commercially tissue cultured about 4 years ago but I don't really know how long it has actually been out. We never sold it because I didn't think it was fertile which is the main reason, in my opinion, to grow the streaked ones, but then again, that didn't stop us from growing Athena ;)

Thanks mooie
Chris, my friends have 1200 plus hostas, but I totally forgot all others when I saw it. Then said, they have had it for some years and I have never notised it before.. sort of dark green, clear stripes, light glossy and then those extremly long legs.. for me it could be sterile... I would get my hands on it anyway. It is only a few eyes after 4 or 5 years and it may be lees impressive when it mature

I'll try to remember my camera and try to do a pic on my next visit
