Hosta of the day -'White Christmas' - post your pics

Post by ViolaAnn »

I skipped over this one yesterday. Have had 'White Christmas' for maybe 6 years. Have lucked out in a location for it just south of my oak tree in a location where it will also get a bit of morning sun. Seems to like it there and does well unless the earwigs do a number on it.

My White Christmas is sort of out there all by herself - yours looks nice nestled amongst the heucheras.

Nice looking 'White Christmas'. How about you take over when I get away from my computer for a week or so (Aug. 10) and post those letters that I didn't have? Are any of those X, Y and Z hostas small - medium in size?

My Zounds is still son the smallish size since it grows so slowly and the Zodiac is definitely in the medium range. Yesterday's Memories is on it's way to being a large plant (this is only it's third growing season) and Xanadu Paisley should be a medium but she keeps spreading!

As for posting pics the week of Aug 10th - - I'll give it a try. I can't promise that I can get to it every day as I hold a full time job, assist with my elderly mother, ya-da, ya-da, ya-da (you probably know how it goes). It would help if I knew ahead of time which letters of the alphabet are still open so that I can get the prep work done over the weekend prior to the 10th. Thanks for including me.

Looks a stunning plant but I think with all the white (less chlorophyl) it may be very slow as was white feather for me gave up on it 3 years on and dwindled away to nothing.

It seems to do OK. Not a fast grower, but I don't have space for rampant fast growers anyway.

2014 - for whatever reason, 'White Christmas' looked better this year than it has in a long time. The slugs more or less left it alone and it still looks pretty good in September. (The slugs did not leave ALL my plants alone, unfortunately). this picture, July 16, 2914.

2015 - July 03. Early in the season this one looked great. But slugs got to it while I was away for 2 1/2 weeks in July.
