Hosta of the Day 'Rainforest Sunrise' - Post Your Pics

'Rainforest Sunrise' is the daily hosta for Sunday as I'll be out early and not back until a lot later tomorrow.

Mine was new in spring 2008 and this picture dates from July 15 while the bloom close-up is from July 18.

Here's my Rainforest Sunrise.

First year in my garden. It had three growth spurts, you can see the three layers of color, I hope it doesn't do this every year. Mine only gets morning sun, so I'm not sure why the leaves are bleaching out.

Here's mine. I got it in 2008 and it is 24" wide, with leaves 5-1/2" x 6". That is not very "small". Mine needs to settle down color-wise.

Diana - you might end up with a nice surprise colour-wise. Sports are always fun.

This one looked really good this year though by autumn, most of the leaves had developed a rusty coloured spot. I'll post a picture after I edit it.

2014 - 7th year in my garden. I guess it's mature; so I'm not likely to see much new growth. Like in 2011, it developed rusty spots this year late in the season. Still don't know what causes that, but we've had a lot of rain. Picture July 16, 2014.

2015 - July 25. Not much change from last year.

If you look carefully at the 2015 picture, you'll see a few leaves in the middle of the plant that are about half green. Well, in 2016, I had a solid green eye which I never got divided out. Will have to do that early in 2017.

2017 update - I was able to reach into the centre of the plant with a knife and cut out the sold colour section and it's doing well.
