Name: H. 'Lakeside Shore Master' - 2008

Description: thick blue-green leaves with an ivory, rapidly turning light green to rich yellow centre, some streaks jetting toward the midrib. Intensely seer-suckered. Heavy substance and lightly cupped.
Size: Small (26"w x 12"h)
Origin: unknown
Flowers: pale lavender, tubular
Added to garden: Spring 2007
Notes: likes good light to moderate shade.

Both of mine were bought this year. One from Chris and the other was supposed to be a Paul's glory, but I really like them so found a spot for both. I don't think they are a small Hosta though. I have seen several that are quite large. Both pictures taken today.

I think it is all in how the size of the hosta is measured. Also, the Lakeside hostas are, I believe, notorious for having been registered before they reach their full growth. Mine, in its 5th year in my garden is about on the registered size for the mound, but it will certainly get larger.

Well, MAYBE it will get bigger. It didn't this past year. Oh, and I realize the name should be Shore Master rather than Shoremaster.

Well I think mine is getting smaller. Maybe it's too dry in its location. I've paid extra attention to watering it this year, but maybe we won't see results until next year. Photo July 27, 2014.

2015 - July 25. This one was mixed up in Lilac suckers. I dug it and moved it a bit farther from the lilacs (and dug out the suckers too). Seems happier, but hasn't really grown.
