Daily Hosta - 'First Frost' - Add your pics

This is a hosta for Tuesday, Nov. 1. Just have more time now than tomorrow morning.

Name: H. 'First Frost'

Description: the reverse pattern of Hosta 'June'. Attractive blue leaves with a 1/2" border of creamy yellow that ages to white by season's end.
Size: Medium - 33"w x 16"h
Origin: Sport of H. 'Halcyon'
Flowers: 2' tall scapes of light lavender tubular flowers in mid-summer.
Added to garden: Spring 2007

Did not really grow until 2010 - its 4th year in my garden. Looked even better in 2011 though it retained some creaminess in the margins all summer. Was Hosta of the Year in 2010.

'First Frost' was new to me last year, part of a secret trade, and a most welcome one I might add.

The picture below was shot a week ago, 24th October 2011, and I'm most impressed at how it's hanging in there.

Here's a picture of my First Frost in my problem growing area because of shallow root competition. Thought I'd post some of its look alikes as the pictures were all taken on June 10, 2012. Unfortunately, I don't think any of them will ever reach mature size.

One of my First Frost is being engulfed by a bush honeysuckle. The bush has been there for years but didn't grow much. I didn't know what it was until this year when it flowered. The First Frost is new to that spot - now I have to trim the bush.
