Daily Hosta #5 - Majestic

Post by redcrx »

Just to get away from Gold Standard sports for a quick minute, here is Majestic. It put up a scape that was 5 feet tall.

A couple of photos of Majectic's flowers today. The scape may end up being over 6 feet tall. It gets bigger than my Krossa Regal scape and has much larger flowers. Anyone know why the scape is so tall on this plant.

Some more recent photos of Majestic. I have one in the ground and one in a pot.

Here is the one in the ground early last season.

Here is the same plant this season. That's Miss Linda Smith above/right, and Crystal Moon above/left with some Azalea Autumn Chiffon flower mixed in.

And here is the potted one today.

I want back into my old photos to find a nice shot later in a season to show the size this can get but I couldn't find what I was looking for. This is the best I could find and it's from 2013. (I have probably shown this before on another topic.)

This plant looks great until the full sun hits it - then the leaves get limp. But next morning it's back looking great.

An update - six weeks later. The yellow edge is gone and a lot of variability in the leaf is showing up.
