Sale at Hallson!!!

Wow some great sale at Hallson, I ordered 7 more Hosta -Ripple Effect, Maraschino Cherry, Pauls Glory, Night before Christmas, Climax, Ultramarine and Frosted Jade. Can't wait to get them. Ripping out more ivy for 5 of them. Wish I could afford to get more, but these will do for this year.

I placed an order a couple days ago but haven't sent the check yet as I saw the sale and think I will add a few more....maybe a daylily or two while I'm at it. Thanks to seperate checking accounts, DH will never know........

She supports my habit - cheaper than liquor - and no hangovers... unless you count the sore "gardener's back" in the morning... and she wouldn't want me to look too closely at what her quilting costs us in a year...

Speaking of drinking...

Yesterday my better-three-quarters and I were having our sundowners... me a gin-and-tonic, she a campari and soda... on the deck and drifting off in our own contemplations.

I was roused from my reverie as She quietly said "I don't know what I'd do without you... I'm not sure I could face the day..."

I smiled of course... and gently said "Is that you or the liquor talking?"

She said "It's me - I'm talking to the liquor."

As for my hosta purchases, in the last 6 months DH has bought a new computer, a smoker, a new barbecue grill, a Nook, and a new pickup. I don't want to hear any complaints about my garden budget.

My husband thinks they are all on 1/2 price sale. He doesn't even ask anymore, just opens the boxes when they get here and I take them out of the brown paper when I get home and plant the next day. He's just happy I'm happy and they are not boxes of new shoes.

Don't buy everything!!! My yearly pilgrimage to Cement City for our fall field trial(at the Beagle grounds) is coming up in a couple of weeks and I intend to buy, buy, buy.

Don't worry, we have plenty! The nursery is incredibly full of plants and despite the bad summer weather it really looks fantastic. Bring a large vehicle with plenty of room because we'll be doing our fall potted plant clearance sale then
