Kiwi Full Monty 11 - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55006
At this time of year Hosta are starting to fade. I have a couple in direct sun and their center is virtually bleached out. I thought I would post a couple of shots from today.
The first I got from Chris early last season, just to plant one in sun.
This second one I have had for a while. It's been moved around.
This shows the new growth has the correct coloration on the plant above.
Here is one of my oldest and it grows in bright shade.
Here is a shot of new growth on the above plant showing the waxy coating.

My Kiwi FM must be more shade it'm very blue compared to those pictures. May be the photographs though.
Re: Some comparison shots of Kiwi Full Monty
It also depends on how they are watered because that can wash off the wax coating.

Re: Some comparison shots of Kiwi Full Monty
I have found wax coatings depend on the amount of weathering;obviously sun but rain and wind. My Blue Angel and S elegans keep it untill end of july others Halcyon Fragrant Blue and Bressingham seem to keep it much longer. Perhaps its due to leaf size??
