At this time of year Hosta are starting to fade. I have a couple in direct sun and their center is virtually bleached out. I thought I would post a couple of shots from today.
The first I got from Chris early last season, just to plant one in sun.

This second one I have had for a while. It's been moved around.

It also depends on how they are watered because that can wash off the wax coating.

I have found wax coatings depend on the amount of weathering;obviously sun but rain and wind. My Blue Angel and S elegans keep it untill end of july others Halcyon Fragrant Blue and Bressingham seem to keep it much longer. Perhaps its due to leaf size??
