Hosta of the Day - 'Quarter Note'

Post by redcrx »

Quarter Note is a small hosta. It's a seedling of 'Little Wonder'.

One point about this one I forgot to mention. The leaves disintegrate very early. I was shocked to see how bad they were for this time of the season. This one is in strong sun and I thought that was the issue but I checked one I have in a trough in shade and it was gone too.
Here you can see the tall scapes with many seed pods but the leaves are gone. That's Swamp Thing on the left.

Are there others that die down so early? Wonder why that happens?

Yeah, it's weird. Others are fading but nothing like this one. And it's still warm here - I have plenty in great shape.
