Nice flowers.

I have two seedlings coming along - no parentage just interesting volunteers. One should be flowering today but I'm out of town for getting pictures. Hopefully my son can get them before the rabbits do.

My son got the photos. This tiny plant has been been here for years and never flowered. The plant in the background is Luna Moth.

The second one opened yesterday. I have been protecting it all season since it's in the gravel path.

Great meeting again Carol! I love that flower. I'm always amazed how similar flowers can look, but when photographed you can see differences not readily seen with the naked eye.

Haven't taken many flower photos this year, but here's 'Avalanche' at the end of July.

Not particularly close to the individual flower, but 'Blue Mouse Ears' did well for me this year. I almost lost it winter of 2012-13 - about half of it didn't come back.

A flower on one I'm calling 'Lovely Leila', Leila being my second granddaughter. This is a seedling from 2006. The squirrels moved the markers around during it's first winter; so I have no idea of the parentage. For awhile I thought it was 'June', but the flower is different and at the wrong time of year for the plants in that family. Anyway, the leaves are quite light in the centre when they emerge and gradually become misted. Both pictures July 16, 2014.

Beautiful!
HAA HAA ... Not laughing about the squirrels, laughing because I keep telling people that the chipmunks are taking my plant markers and I find them clear across the yard after winter. I used to think it was the dogs knocking them over until I wouldn't find some, or would find them in odd places.
I've even caught the birds in my pots, playing in them, and playing with the markers.
I've now taken to burying them under the soil. Makes it more difficult to read when necessary, but helps (they still get them). My 2nd choice was metal markers but even they fall out of pots. :D

Just realizied that one of the new hostas I bought a couple of days ago is a 'Purple Heart'. And it has a flower on it. Must go see if it's as pretty as Carol's.

I took some pics, but found it really challenging to get the flower in focus. So some of these aren't wonderful. (I could, and maybe I will, go back at pictures I took in previous years.)

Here's a flower from 'Bulletproof'.

and the entire plant in bloom.

Bloom on 'Chinese Sunrise'.

And 'Curly Fries'

And finally, for tonight, 'Harpoon' is covered in masses of spidery flowers.
