Aptly named, this medium to large sized hosta forms a coarsely textured mound of leathery, puckered, heart-shaped to round leaves of good substance. It is a wide-margined sport of the long-popular 'Dick Ward', which is named for one of the most accomplished Hosta breeders in the US. Its leaves display wide, blue-green margins with chartreuse centers that become yellow in summer. Near-white flowers appear atop chartreuse scapes in early summer.

I received my plant from the First look auction on the Hosta Library last spring. It's already developed more corrugation this year, so I'm really looking forward to the next! The leaf and margin color contrast are also nice.

Eleven - have you added the name and the link for this hosta to the thread for hostas to be added to the Index? Please do. I'm currently on a vacation, but will add it when I return next week.
