Hosta of the Day - Eye of the Storm

Post by redcrx »

Eye of the Storm is an all green sport from The Perfect Storm. It is light green with rounded leaves and purple petioles.

I have had it for 3 seasons but I haven't seen it flower yet.

I found Eye of the Storm in flower today. An odd point - the flower is different from where it sported The Perfect Storm.

This flower has light anthers while The Perfect Storm has dark anthers.
And the center coloration goes into the throat of the flower where that doesn't happen on The Perfect Storm flower.

I went back in my photos to show the difference.

And then I also found this example of The Perfect Storm flower. Seems to be a lot of variability.
