Anyone recognize this hosta.

Post by redcrx »

I was "sport" fishing today and came upon this little guy with no tag. I know it's not a sport but I don't recognize it.

Hideout? Where was your fishing hole? Hideout is one of the ones Q&Z dumped as TC liners when they went down. DVHS was supposed to have them this year, but not enough were growing well for the group sale.

Hideout was my first thought on this one too. We have a batch here from Shady Oaks when they went out of business, so there could be a lot of them out there between the two going out of business...

I don't think it's Hideout. This garden center is a tiny place in Clementon and I don't think he got any new plants this season. Just reselling what didn't move last season. The pots have weed and grass in them. And when they do get new ones they are "ordinary" plants - Francee, Sum and Substance, Patriot, Fragrant Bouquet, Guacamole.

Lakeside Elfin Fire mentioned by Tigger in another topic may be it.

Hi Ed,

The two places we mentioned went out of business two years ago so Hideout was sold in large numbers in 2014. Some of the plants left from Shady Oaks were also sold in 2015. When this grows up you might be able to tell more about it, though. Right now it might be something small and wavy or maybe will round out more later.
