Hosta of the day, ‘Island Breeze’
Description: This hosta will bring a tropical splash of colour to your garden! Better leaf substance, a more vigorous growth rate, and more striking colours all improve upon its parent. Red petioles. The lightly puckered leaves emerge in the spring brilliant yellow, before toning down to chartreuse in the heat of summer. A wide, deep green margin contrasts nicely all season long.
Size: Medium (28"w x 12" h)
Origin: Registered as a sport of H. 'Fire Island' (though other sources indicate it is a sport of 'Paradise Island' which would make it a 2nd generation sport of 'Fire Island'.
Flowers: medium lavender, tubular flowers in mid-summer
Added to garden: spring 2015
Notes: This hosta has grown far better for me than either ‘Fire Island’ or ‘Paradise Island’.

Re: Hosta of the day, ‘Island Breeze’
2017 I LOVE this hosta. It grows better for me than either 'Fire Island' or 'Paradise Island'. It DID have some slug damage in 2017 as we had constant rain. Photo Aug. 15
