Hello everyone! :bd: My name is Susan and I live in Virginia. I love Hostas and talking about Hostas and learning about Hostas.
I am very interested in Slug Resistant Hostas, to me they are almost maintenance free. I have about 170 hosta's, about a quarter acre in the city. If you have any ideas let me know, I also buy the non-slug Hostas but just keep them in a pot till I figure out how to get rid of the slugs and keep them under control. :bawl: :bawl: Kinda hard when you work full time. :( As I type I am trying to see these little smilies on the right. :D :-? :hmm: Cute, one more! OOps, hope you don't think bad.

Hello, I am new to your forum and found it through high ratings from the Garden Web Forum! I enjoy gardening, quilting, and live in the country w/ my husband Gary, our St. Bernard "Happy", and a few chickens and ducks. We live in Forestville, NY on 15 acres and I hope to learn ways to beautify, enhance and build up a garden or 2 on our property by reading the interesting posts from all of you "seasoned gardeners"! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences freely!
Sincerely,
Marysia

Hello from central Texas!!!!!

I live in the lone star state and love gardening. I like all types of blooming plants. Daylilies have been my favorite plants now for a few years but now I am getting so many I am trying to concentrate more on other blooming bulbs and plants so I will have a good variety. I have gone from zero to a little over 140 daylilies in just a couple of years. Yes, I am addicted! I am starting to have to choose more carefully though as I am running out of room for them. I enjoy trading from time to time with others who are interested. Look forward to reading all of the different forums and learning more about gardening and meeting some new friends along the way!

The only thing two Gardeners will ever agree on is what the other is doing wrong.

You won't know how to grow a plant successfully until you've killed it a few times.

Hi all,

My name is Barb and I am gardening in north Florida about a mile from the Georgia border. I've got about 20 acres cleared for my horses and another 10 is semi-civilized and needing some plants for the foresty edges, planting some more trees (mostly food-mulberry, pomegranate, apple, pear, peaches, persimmon, plum, pecans). The rest is in woods or along one of the creeks. One of my treasures is an old stand of mountain laurel along Mosquito Creek. Absolutely lovely in April here. I need to find a microclimate on the property to put in some of the more cold-tolerant citrus. Last year I got some hostas from my local feed dealer and they did well so I'm looking here at Hallson's for more and different varieties. I'll be interested in hearing and learning from your experience. It'll beat learning it all on my own.
